Battle of Beaumont Hamel Remembrance Ceremony

The Southern Shore Legion annual Battle of Beaumont Hamel Remembrance ceremony at the cenotaph in Ferryland.
This is an outdoor event, followed by a reception with food and conversation inside after the ceremony.

Wreath laying by members of the public – PLEASE READ IN FULL

·       Call or email by Friday, June 28, 2024, with your name and who you're laying wreath in memory of.

·       Email: legion34@gmail.com or call Joe @ 709-363-2447

·       Wreaths are not provided; you must purchase your own

·       Arrive at the Cenotaph no later than 10:45 am.

·       Keep your wreath with you & follow guidelines below on when to come to platform/steps area.

·       Wreath layers must not gather on the platform next to the steps leading up to the Cenotaph. You will be informed who is laying wreath ahead of you and you will come to the platform when that person is walking to lay their wreath. No two families will gather on the platform at the same time.

Museum/Court House

Ferryland Town Council is in discussion regarding the future of the Historical Museum/Courthouse. As you are aware, the Town recently finished a project with interior restructuring of the building. Presently, the town is involved In forming a Steering Committee to hear any and all ideas with regard to moving forward with this Heritage Building. If you are interested the town will be holding a meeting on Monday October 23, 3pm at the Town Office. If you would like more information please call 709 432 2127
