Town of Ferryland unveils new town logo and website
After a visit to the town of Ferryland, tourists are typically in awe of the natural wonders, deep history, and unique culture of the small town. The town wanted to ensure that visitors to its website felt the same.
Benefiting from funding from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) Rediscover Main Streets initiative, the town undertook to develop a new website that would encourage tourists to visit, make it easier to provide information updates for local residents, and host a businesses directory that showcases the many experiences, accommodations, dining, and other service offerings in the town. The town also decided to embrace a new town logo that is as modern and creative as the website it envisioned.
The new logo highlights the iconic images that are so often associated with Ferryland – a lighthouse, iceberg, and fish – and pairs them with friendly, welcoming typography. The icons are framed in a style that is akin to a stain-glass window – a nod to the historic nature of the town. The brand colours take inspiration from the deep blue of the surrounding ocean, the vast light blue skies, as well as the red tower and yellow beacon of the lighthouse itself.
The new brand and website, www.townofferryland.com, officially launched on at the annual Celebrate Ferryland event on Saturday, October 7, 2023. The town email address has also been updated to info@townofferryland.com.
As the town gathers more photos, videos, and other content for the website, it will continue to be maintained and updated by the town. Town business, including meeting agendas, meeting minutes, plans, and policies will continue to be shared via the website.
